The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) is pursuing the re-development of the Bronx Psychiatric Center with the goal of providing improved mental health services to the public. The re-development will offer state of the art facilities including Offices, Transitional Living Residence, Studio Residence (SRO), Adult and Children’s facilities. The project is being managed for OMH by the Dormitory Authority State of New York (DASNY).
Crescent is utilizing existing relationships with Business and Community Organizations, Public Officials, Community Boards, and Employment Agencies to discuss project goals, contracting and employment opportunities. Crescent coordinated project introductory meetings which were used as a catalyst to develop the Community Stakeholders Group and strengthen relationships with local business and workforce service providers.
In addition, Crescent is currently implementing DASNY’s Local, Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise and Workforce Compliance program. Daily responsibilities for the Project Manager include but are not limited to coordination and marketing of community outreach events, coordinate and market Pre-bid meetings for each of the four major construction contracts, assist in preparation of bid list, liaison role between project team and M/WBE firms, monitor contractor compliance with all DASNY requirements, maintain and submit monthly reports to project team and DASNY, schedule informational sessions to educate/inform Non-Union firms of the Project Labor Agreement (PLA) requirements and procedures. The project has a current achievement of 52% participation for Minority, Women and Local Resident Workforce and 31.3% collective participation of Minority-owned, Women-owned and Local Businesses.
