The City Point project is a unique mixed-use property adding retail and residential opportunities to Brooklyn’s main retail corridor – Fulton Street. This project will consist of several development phases.
Phase 1A consisted of a 50,000 sq. ft., four-story commercial and retail development on Fulton Avenue, on the site of the old Albee Square Mall. Site 1A is the first phase of a multi-phased mixed-use development project. Phase 2 is currently under construction and will develop 630,000 square feet of residential space along with additional retail. Phase 2 will serve as an extension of Phase I between Fulton and Flatbush Avenues. The retail development will pursue and work diligently to achieve LEED Silver Equivalent Certification. Planning and design are currently underway for Phase 3, the final phase of the City Point project.
Crescent Consulting has designed and managed several Information Sessions providing the Minority-owned, Women-Owned and Local Brooklyn businesses, as well as Workforce and community leaders a briefing on opportunities related to this project and the qualification process. Crescent is working closely with the client, overall project team, elected officials and local community organizations to assist with the 30% L/M/WBE Subcontracting and 45% Workforce goals. Daily responsibilities for the Project Manager include but are not limited to; liaison role between project team and M/WBE and Local Brooklyn firms, monitor contractor compliance with all requirements, develop monthly progress reports to project team, identify areas of concern and recommend options to the Project Team.
In Phase 1A of City Point, over 50 percent of contract dollars went to Minority, Women and Brooklyn based firms. Over 80 percent of the employees were local residents or members of minority groups.
